Matilda Street Gallery hosts talented young artist
The next exhibition at the Matilda Street Gallery in Macksville will feature a body of exquisite work by Yolanda Cybelle El Khouri - a young artist from Missabotti with a load of talent. The exhibition will open on Saturday 4th February 6-8pm and run through until Saturday 4th March. The exhibition will include a collection of illustrations, paintings, textiles and ceramics. Yolanda’s work offers a fresh take on life and the environment which is reflected through her art and handcrafted homewares.
Yolanda is trained in illustration and design with an eye for detail and a natural sense of colour. She previously worked in costume for film and TV this along with her mother’s endless baskets of fabrics have influenced her obsession with textiles. She finds continued inspiration through her love of music, nature, traditional cultures and their arts.
Her business aptly called Linen Fish operates out of her studio which sits amongst the bananas and avocados on an organic farm in Missabotti on the Mid North Coast.
Yolanda was recently selected as a finalist in the 2016 Eutick Memorial Still Life Award (EMSLA) which has allowed her the opportunity to promote her work through the Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery. ***
Yolanda sells both wholesale and direct to customers. Outside of her exhibition, Yolanda is often found at local markets across the Mid North Coast. To view her art and handcrafted homewares collection online, visit www.linenfish.com
